Site Review for Lighting & Scene
A number of components help comprise the successful photography of an event. One of these elements is the review of the site before the actual event. By reviewing the site at the same time of day as the upcoming event with the venue director will help in shot planning. Why? For a number of reasons, two of which are lighting and scene selections. San Diego event photography takes these elements into consideration.
Room lighting can change the quality and impact of a shot, so it is important for the photographer to survey the location under the same conditions of the shoot. Available remedies to ensure quality photography are adjusting the various options that provide for compensation through camera settings, such as aperture, shutter speed, film speed, and lens choices, angle of the shot, and strobe or other lighting application. The event planner can help with determining how layout and shading can be modified to help the shoot. Beforehand evaluation of these options will improve both photo quality and quantity. Additional processing of photographs is often still made by in event photography.
Review the venue will help detect promising scene settings and opportunities. The photographer should keep an eye out for good shot opportunities in peripheral areas to the event, such as at tables, or other gathering places.. The aforementioned lighting concerns are of course interrelated and the event photographer should recognize these opportunities. Candid shots during an event are also very important, and reviewing the scene beforehand will help reveal some opportunties for these locations.
Events are often fast-paced and once-in-a-lifetime snapshots in time.An important part of booking an event photographer is ask if they will review the location beforehand
