Getting the Wrong Photographer Could Ruin Your Wedding
September 30th, 2009
Weddings in the winter period or near to Christmas day have always been a popular choice, simply because it feels like a very romantic time. Although I say this, still one of the more important things about any wedding is that you need to have a great wedding photographer. With the credit crisis now in full swing a lot of people choose to pick the cheaper wedding photographers which they always end up regretting. There are a few tips to help you choose the correct wedding photographer, so lets have a look at some.
Portfolio
A good wedding photographer should always have a portfolio to back them up. You should cautiously study all of their photos to see the caliber of each and every one. Ask to look through a wide selection of different snapshots, simply because some photographers may well have got a professional picture created which they will end up showing you.
Equipment
It is not just the main photographer that has to be good, they must also be able to choose the best and latest equipment. Check to see what models they have, because you do not want to end up having your photos taken with a disposable camera.
Testimonials
When you apply for a job an employer always wants to see at least two good references, the same should apply for a wedding. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity, so you should ask the photographer for a few references. Or alternatively ask for the phone number of the references yourself and give them a call to talk over what the lensman was like and how the images were.
For great wedding photographs and a great sussex wedding photographer which you should also book well in advance as you only get married once and need to make it a special day.

Ways to take great night photos
September 30th, 2009
Taking night time shots is one of the hardest thing to perfect in photography. That would be the case when you do not have any ideas on what to do with your cameras. But if you understand how to take them you can take fantastic photos. On the other hand, if you do not know what you will do or what you are doing then the shots would not turn out good.So here are some tip son how to take great night photos.Following them will make you happy because of the results of your shots.
First of all I hate to say equipment makes a difference. In other words, you can’t have a cheap camera and expect it to be taking quality pictures at night. It just isn’t equpped to do that. As a San Diego wedding photographer I have had to learn that only cameras made to take photos at night will work.It doesn’t mean that you shoud have a camera that is specifically made for night shots but you should look for a camera that can shoot in the dark. This one tip is not free and could be very expensive. But as soon as you get over that you can take better night shots.
Second you will want to not rely on the flash. If you have the experience of taking any night shots you know what I am talking about. It is something I had to learn as a San Diego photographer not to rely on the flash.Instead, use your camera’s features and use it well. Know what your camera can do and for what circumstance. This will be of big help to beginners since they can pre-program their cameras to take good shots at certain circumstances.
Last tip is to use a lens that reduces camera shake. Taking photos of many events as helped me realize the problem of camera shake. So doing San Diego event photography has helped me gain experience.I discovered some lenses that can reduce this shake. This will enable you to take clearer night photos.
So, that is it. If you follow these tips you are sure to take better night shots.

Digital Photography Tricks
September 29th, 2009
It was frankly hard when we first began the move from straight film to digital photography some years back. My other half, a brilliant beginner paparazzo with a special aptitude for expressive and candid black-and-white footage, had difficulty finessing the’delay’ that happened between pressing the button and the digital camera actually snapping the picture. The honesty, shall we say, gave way to more staged poses and less exciting results. as time went on, we learned more about taking better photographs and also using Photoshop to improve the pictures with computer effects and other production strategies.
Tip one : Pump Up the Volume.
Tip two : target Lighting.
We spotted that we could augment all our photographs everywhere by paying much more attention to lighting. So we might be more orientated toward taking photos at different times of day - as an example, dusk - when there’s that’magic hour’ component that will give pictures a richer hue and tone.
Tip three : expectation.
In contrast to the Heinz ketchup commercial, we learned to be impatient with certain of our subjects ( especially our youngsters, whose peculiarities and personalities we knew well ) - meaning, we learned to anticipate what they might do and snap the photograph ahead of where we believed the live action would go - so the camera would catch it punctually. This is a talent that should be developed over time - and it isn’t something that may be done completely with strangers
Tip four : Download and Dump.
We learned to download our pictures regularly after many times of missing incredible photographs as the camera was full. We also had to be taught how to be cold hearted with’our babies’ and cut out pictures on an improvised basis to keep the camera available for even better possibilities. Having said that, we also developed a brilliant backing up system using CDs and DVDs, so we have thousands of photographs stored and simply retrievable.
Tip five : Grayscaling, Sepia Toning, Lassoing, Saturation and Other Effects.
Some of our favourite methods in Photoshop are basically fairly easy, but they’re helpful time and time again. We adore grayscaling pictures to convert them from RGB to black and white, we adore changing the hue to do sepia toning for that old-time effect, and we particularly like to use the lasso tool to make’feathering’ and other cool effects like drop shadows, bevel and emboss - even craquelure. Photoshop can be employed in 1,000,000 other ways - but having digital photographs has actually helped us take more benefit of Photoshop than we probably did before when we had to by hand scan broadcast photographs. This alone has helped us truly fall in love with the digital.
Tip six : Batch Processing.
From time to time, we would have plenty of photographs that we would have liked to do an identical effect with. We got the hang of a thing by the name of’batch processing,’ where we could basically program Photoshop to immediately open ( and resave ) each picture in a folder and do the same action to it.
This is truly cool and useful if you’ve got the have to do it - makes everything go super-fast. Obviously, there are lots of other tricks we’ve learned, but these 6 will maybe be useful to learn and adopt into your own digital photography methods.

Becoming an Expert in Photo to Canvas in 20 Days
September 29th, 2009
Novice photographers, using new advancements in the industry, are transformed into "almost pros", using their digital cameras. These “nouveau” pros then are able to print their photo on canvas to create a large piece of custom canvas art.
Over the previous ten years, photo development technology has advanced greatly. The widespread ownership of digital cameras has generated hundreds of millions of digital images that are stored locally – and on online storage sites – around the world.Anyone can become an expert photographer today - even novices. As long as you have a a nice digital camera and a passion for photography, you are well on your way.The field of photography has recently exploded with many new photographers. This is mainly due to the low cost of entry (a camera and batteries) and the subsequent low cost to have the digital prints printed.
There are many benefits to converting one’s images to canvas prints. The process makes the image radiant and is truly a work of art. Providers of this service (there are quite a few to be found online) use special digital imaging software to heighten the visual impact and to print the image on a canvas without image degradation. Many of these canvas print outfits are using advanced technology to expose canvas art to those who previously knew nothing of it. Coupled with their specialized mounting and framing capabilities – and attractive pricing options – one can see why the companies are doing so much business.
As mentioned, the pricing is quite affordable.A google (or other search engine) inquiry will give you the general pricing structure, but you should definitely be on the look out for a quality print shop that guarantees its products. In addition, don't forget to examine the company's framing and mounting options. A particularly attractive option (and it is cheaper) is the “gallery-wrap” option.Ordering canvas prints is very simple, with the process beginning with you uploading your prints online and ending with payment online.
